These terms apply to tools, plugins, and other services I publish, including Assessment Item Designer. By using them, you agree to use them responsibly and to remain responsible for how you use their output.

Purpose

My tools are intended to support professional, educational, and creative work. Assessment Item Designer, for example, helps instructors design and review assessment items from learning outcomes and authorized course materials.

Your responsibility

Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or unsuitable suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing results before relying on them, publishing them, or using them in decisions that affect other people.

For assessment-related use, the instructor or institution remains responsible for the final assessment, answer key, scoring criteria, fairness, alignment, and approval for use.

No guarantee of validity or correctness

I do not guarantee that generated or reviewed content is complete, correct, valid, reliable, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Pre-administration review of assessment items is not a substitute for empirical validation using student-response data or for any quality-assurance procedures required by your institution.

Materials you provide

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use any materials, data, or other content you provide to a tool or plugin. Do not use the services to infringe copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use my tools for unlawful purposes, to harm others, to misrepresent unreviewed output as independently verified fact, or to bypass obligations that apply to you professionally or legally.

Third-party platforms

Some tools run inside third-party applications or platforms. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own terms, policies, availability, and technical limitations. I am not responsible for the operation of third-party services.

Availability and changes

I may update, change, suspend, or discontinue a tool or plugin at any time. I do not guarantee continuous availability, compatibility with every platform, or continued support for a particular feature.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the tools and services are provided “as is” and without warranties. I am not liable for losses or damages resulting from reliance on generated content, service interruptions, or use that is inconsistent with these terms.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms when the services or relevant requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.
